Rachel Carson was a marine biologist, enviornmentalist, and author. She is known for alerting the world about the dangers of pesticide to the environment. She was born on May 27, 1907, in Springdale,Pennsilvania. She grew up on a farm in Pnessilvania, which gave her a lot of firsthand knowlege about nature. Her first book was Under the Sea-Wind. She died of cancer on April 14,1967.
